Marketing funnel systems, such as ClickFunnels, require a subscription to use. With Zenler, marketing funnels are built into the platform.
So what are Marketing funnels or the idea behind them?
A marketing funnel is a series of pages that funnel people through with the sole goal of gathering leads. And convert them to an offer, whilst of course, gathering that all-important email address.
We will focus our attention today on the different types of marketing funnels, and the goal we want to achieve. So, why do I mention goals?
Without goals, we are building without purpose. Anything that you are trying to do not just in course creation but also in life requires an end goal. Think about it if you're reading a book, your goal is to finish it. If you're getting into surfing, your goal is to get better or perform a manoeuvre, and the same applies to funnels.
A few goals could be:
These are the main reasons for any kind of marketing right!
One thing we have not talked about yet is your emails, and these are a massive part of your marketing funnel. A series of emails can be triggered after an opt-in. You can control these emails to go out and usually go to another step in the funnel. Emails are the driving force behind any marketing funnel, and they are built into every funnel type within Zenler.
Now, that we have discussed the different types of funnels, I want to chat about your offers. These are usually presented at the end of the funnel sequence and are your hooks into the lead conversion process.
Some Examples of Offers:
The Incentive:
The incentive is what will you be giving them to get their email?
You could for example offer:
These are common incentives and are so important, otherwise its basically just a form right!
Marketing funnels give your users an engaged interactive feel. We will look at some case studies next and you show the flow of a lead through your funnels.
A potential student turns up at your opt-in page and sees a free PDF of "How to create the Perfect Blog" (Notice the language used is positive and impactful!).
Student signs up, capturing their all important email address, and gets diverted to a thank you page that says "Go to your inbox to grab the PDF download link!"
Now, we could just send them straight to the download, so why do we not?
Well simple answer is that we want to make sure that the email address is not FAKE. And by getting them to check their inbox we are making sure that this does not happen.
We use automations inside Zenler to send out the email. And, we can also send a notification to us, as Admin, as well. So we can see if we have a new sign up.
Maybe one or two days later, we also use automations to follow up with a special offer like 20% off our new course on Creating and Perfecting your Blog campaign! This is the all important hook.
We know that they are interested in blogs and are open to taking education in this area, so they are perfect for converting.
This is just one type of lead magnet, there are many hundred's of different types you could use. All of which are possible with Zenler.
In this case study we will look at a simple video series funnel. This can contain 1 of more videos in each step of the funnel.
Students come to the site and see an opt-in page called "TOP 3 SEO TIPS 3 DAY'S" a FREE 3-day workshop! Who could resist this tempting FREE offer, of course, they sign up.
So, now we have captured their email and they go to the first step (video 1). The next day's automation sends them another email sending them to step 2 (video 2). And the day after this another email to step 3 (video 3). Where on this last page we present them with an offer to join the full workshop or live.
Again there are a hundred ways to do video series funnels, and again they're all possible, with ease, in Zenler!
This is the most simple funnel. It is all based on one opt-in form and the rest is emails.
The user fills out the opt-in for the offer, and you send the information to them via email.
Let's use 10 days of tips on creating "The Perfect Course". The user opts in and a series of email automations trigger to fire off emails at times that you select. Lastly, make sure you send them a final email asking if they are interested in a course or live that you are running.
Job done, you're on the road to success! Now, make sure that you market your funnels and post to your social channels.
Good luck course creators :)
